Hi Guys

We have an asterisk box with Trixbox Version:v2.8.0.3,

Is there a way to do a call forward via our WXC Trunk to show the destination caller id recieved by the system to the recipient.

do we need the string WXC accepts for RPID?,

any help here would be greatly apreciated.

Cheers.

Simple answer is no.

What you want to do is in effect spoof somebody else's CID which the network will prevent you from doing.

Ok, that’s the simple answer. Is there a more complicated answer?

Is this possible to do with DVX trunks? is there a license we can but to allow this to happen when ringing a half dozen numbers?

The reason i ask as we have just moved to a asterisk box to get the AA functions. But almost all of our calls just ring to our mobiles (there is currently only 4 different numbers it will ring.

If the answer is still no then we might have to pass on the AA and go back to using the vfx simultaneous  ringing.

Thanks in advanced.

There is a couple of ways, True A party support is definitely supported but you require to pas a 302 and use the  Call Diversion header support

In this example here is the 302 supplied from the device

Orig A Party xxxxx5
Orig B Party xxxx43
C Party xxxxx43

Timestamp     : 05:53:40.052 2010-07-01
Direction     : RX
Remote IP/Port: 58.xxx.xxx.xxx/5060
Local IP/Port : 58.28.20.150(vx2)/5060
Transport     : UDP
----------------------------------------
SIP/2.0 302 Moved Temporarily

From: "Phil Moore" ;tag=3201400a-13c4-4c2b84a3-3306e19f-1b92eda5
Call-ID: BW055340137010710-644213216
CSeq: 1 INVITE
Via: SIP/2.0/TCP 58.xxx.xxx.xxx:5060;branch=z9hG4bK-1a59c1-4c2b84a3-3306e19f-3495a57a
Contact:
Diversion: "" ;reason=unconditional
Server: Cisco/SPA525G-7.4.4
Content-Length: 0

This will pass the original A party as the CLI and not the Orig B Party,

2nd way is to use the voice portal , web portal and forward from there, a small desk app VFX manager is available from the Viewbill website once your signed up there.

Hmm I might have a play and see if I can create a way to send a 302 from Asterisk on an individual trunk.

You could also insert a Diversion Header into your new forwarded invite, this was done on a trixbox installation some time ago and I cannot provide support past what is provided below.

Open up your dialparties.agi file (located somewhere like: /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/) decalre the didname variable at the top of the file:

$didname = $AGI->request['agi_dnid'];

Locate the below section:

$count = 0;
foreach( $ext as $k)
{
        $cf  = $AGI->database_get('CF',$k);
        $cf  = $cf['data'];
        if (strlen($cf))
        {
                // append a hash sign so we can send out on chan_local below.
                $ext[$count] = $cf.'#';
                debug("Extension $k has call forward set to $cf", 1);

ADDTHISLINE -->                 $AGI->set_variable("__SIPADDHEADER","Diversion: <sip:$didname@YOURIPADDRESS>;reason=unconditional;counter=1;privacy=off");
                debug("$AGI->set_variable");
        }
        else
        {
                debug("Extension $k cf is disabled", 3);
        }
        $count++;

This may now be outdated, I haven't looked at it in quite a while, and may not work for other Asterisk variants.

Please remember this is not a supported platform so any issues in using the above is your responsibility.

Good Luck :)

Josh

A quick update.

When the WxC servers receive a 302 does it take the call and recreate it to the new number? or does it just send a different CID?

If i understand correctly then what should happen is WxC recreates the call with the redirect and then frees the lines to the pabx.

Is there anyone there that can confirm this?

Thanks

Yes it does, it sends the call using diversion headers so we see all 3 numbers and the final called number will see the original caling number, the line should then be free
