Love the TCL Network Status Page.

Nothing wrong with Analogue or Digital TV.. Yet they do say TV isn't working via Broadband.

When Broadband and TV are both actually down.

Wife + Kids at home due to Holidays + Rainy Day + No TV = Bad news.

To make matters more interesting, when I called them I got a message saying that their offices had been evacuated due to an emergency, and to please call again later!

You probably ended up at their Smales Farm call center, the buildings there get evacuated quite often for various things, or at least used to when I was at EDS in the same building.

Give them 30mins and try again

Yes, when I drove home today Bidwill St was closed off from both ends with a few cops in it.

I wondered if it could be related to the outage but assumed not. Perhaps it is.

Seems as though our cable broadband has gone down in the last hour or so, was up until then.

Mine came back for around half an hour around 6.30 (at a guess) but then has been down since.

Not cool. 10 hours is quite a long outage.

Mine was working until about 9:30 this evening, my flatmate said it was down this morning for 3 hours aswell.

For some reason I can't seem to find on their website the place where they list the outages as pictures in one of the earlier posts. I found the link for service information at http://www.telstraclear.co.nz/customer-zone/service-information/ which reports no current problems, and no problems recently resolved. I must be looking in the wrong place I guess.

This does seem like it's a pretty long outage and is affecting different people at different times. I hope they get it fixed soon.

"Use a network that works" ROFL....  A single power pole got hit, or one fibre got cut and it all stops working for 10 hours.

TCL, stones and glass houses comes to mind.

Still inexcusable to take that long to route around one point of failure.

I can understand people on that street having a 10 hour outage, but for lot of people to see any more than a brief fault while it is routed around to me say that its a shoddy network design.

Best way to get updates about TelstraClear outages etc. is to follow them on Twitter (telstraclearnz). The Network Operations Centre uses the Twitter account to announce stuff quite frequently now.

(And apparently the reason that the status page isn't updated when the NOC guys can tweet stuff is because the status page is owned by the customer help teams. Perhaps customer help should follow Telstraclear on Twitter to keep informed? :D )
