Had enough of the DNS issues and packetloss on mums connection, when my SSH to a server in Auckland is laggy and disconnecting I know its not international.

Anyway, since I am sometimes there, and sometimes not there, the only paying for the used data works well. While I could move to slingshot with the data banking, I am interested in other options.

Not interested in doing the BS tests that xnet have made my flatmate go thru, xnet have issues and no amounts of ping tests will solve it.

Thats pretty strange , I use exactly the same dsl connection as everybody else and use SSH on a daily basis and logged in for hours to multiple boxes....

If packet loss is being experienced I would tend to suggest a localised issue with the connection as pretty hard to single out only certain users to get this ,

Well xnet is known for backhaul issues, flatmate is getting a telecom connection put on to try out since his xnet is giving him 2-3% loss making stuff unplayable. I see no loss on my slingshot connection.

Dont really want to mess around doing tests when I am there when I would rather be turning up to a working internet connection. I did ask about upgrading her connection to a FS up one and it was going to be a new contract according to the person I spoke to, but the US is not getting saturated when running an RDP and SSH so is not an issue.
