What aspect? If its the GPRS/WAP settings, try Vodas wireless OTA portal.

If its for the 3G content that Voda live offers - like ringtones, video etc... you might be out of luck. A few people have had success with some of the SE handsets if I remember (involved reflashing?).

However its one of the 'dangers' of purchasing imported/parallel-imported handsets. Vodafone won't go out of their way to fix it (it says so in the On account terms and conditions as well, 12b).

Menu - tools - settings - connection - access points

You only need two access points in here VFNZ internet and VFNZ Gateway if there are any others just delete them

Then go into-messages-options-settings-multi mediamessage-(select access point in use) VFNZ Gateway

Then under real player-options-settings-connection-network-default access point- (VFNZ Gateway)

Menu-tools-settings-packet data and make sure packet data conn is set to when needed and access point set to www.vodafone.net.nz

Hope this makes sense

I agree with johnr, WAP and PXT setup is standard, and all you have to do is go to Imaging in the Menu, then open RealPlayer then settings, then Connection, then Network and choose VFNZ Gateway as your Access Point. Good luck!

Disagre. The only thing you will not enjoy with the paralell imported 6680 is the nice and colorful Vodafone menu for vlive. Video and ringtones are working without hassle if you have the right settings through your WAP. I can easily prove that with my phone which came from Finland long time ago and I am watching videoclips and downloading ringtones since the 3G has started.

Aloha, you might not be able to purchase from the music store though - or are you doing this too?

Black Eyed Peas - My Humps

I just went to Music Store payed 3.50NZD downloaded and now its on my mobile.
Everything through WAP connection, no hassle.

But dont ask me to prove this again, because I find 3.50NZD very expensive! :-))

You have to understand that the whole vlive conception is based on WAP. The nice and colorful Vodafone vlive menu in the VF phones are only the links to the WAP services.
If you dont have that menu in your phone you still able to use the service through WAP.

Yes, but some other models have problems with purchases through the music store, related to lack of DRM software in imported headsets (it seems to be a problem with some Sony Ericsson models).

Fair enough. Sorry. I am talking about only Nokia. Nokia 6630 and 6680 at the moment.
I dont have experience with other phone models.

Freitasm's last post was what I was meaning.
I don't know if any other things are affected but if they are the offical stance seems to be that you are out of luck.

There were a few threads about imported handsets earlier as well regarding the lack of DRM.

The topic starter asked about his Nokia 6680 setup and you said he might be out of luck.
Then I explained and proved that he is not out of luck so we can consider it that Nokia 6680 (and 6630 too and probably almost all symbian Nokia) will work fine even if parallel imported.

So in case somebody buying a Nokia from other source then VF, he will not be in "danger" from vlive point of view.

What I would like to say: please dont "scare" customers buying Nokia phones because you've heard that somebody somewhere else had an issue with Sony phones. :)

Yeah freitasm is right, some 6680's can't download ringtones, yeah it can download from MusicStore, but not from Ringtones section. Tried it with 4 pcs of 6680's, no luck. But getting those ringtones from other free sites is fairly easy and cheaper than buying them from VF Live.

Re: Aloha
Keyword: might.

There is always a possiblity when using imported/parallel imported phones that they may not work with specific features of a carrier (ie music stores). This is not the case in this case though.

I'm not trying to scare people using Nokia handsets but rather trying to point out that if you purchase imported or parallel imported handsets you potentially run the risk of issues.

I got bitten with this on my Sony Ericsson P910 which had a MMS lock (you couldn't change the MMS service center from the Chinamobile preset), it was easy enough to get reflashed (thanks muppet) but it illustrates the point above.
