Following today's little TelstraClear melt down I'd like to ask for a decent 'Save my butt' data plan from Vodafone.

I have a vodem, I have an old sim...

I just wanted some casual service that didn't break the bank.

My daily budget for internet is $1.88 (yes I worked it out so I could get my 2 day credit from TelstraClear - my friends laughed when I told them I got a $3.66 credit).

I don't mind paying a little extra, but $1 for 10MB doesn't really help - the Press web site gives you 200k per page so 10mb isn't going to keep my wife happy for very long!

$30 odd dollars for 500mb is a bit step don't you think?

We only just motor through 10gb per month, so I guess that means we want 300mb per day... though I'm sure we could have lived with 150mb today.

Cheers Don

well $56.40 ($1.88*30) can get you 2GB of data and still save you $6.45...other than that only option would be fixed line...

I can feel your frustration but just need to realise this is NZ...there is nothing like cheap data or calling services here...:)

Oh poopy cock...  It's about time that we could get some casual data at a decent rate.  Sure I can understand that you might not be able to push it out much past the main centers but even so.

This attitude of accepting that we're "Just little old NZ" has to stop.

The Auzzies are committing $43billion dollars to fibre and are already rolling it... what are we doing?

The Auzzies have cheap wireless plans in CBD on countless providers...  What are we doing?

We can beat them at rugby, surely we can push out some wireless data?!

Changed their tune have they?  As I recall they were only offering 500m last time...  Nat promised $1.5b.... but hey, what's been built so far?  Anything?

I think he's referring to "Labor" in Australia, not "Labour" in NZ?

Oh yes....  all bets are off if the Libs win aren't they?!  That's not going to make our Auzzie geeks over at Whirlpool.net.au happy!
