Given VFNZ 's new naked DSL offerings I thought I see if WxC can offer any incentives to stay with them on Fusion. Have had no real issues for the past two years we've been with them, but in these tough time (drink) a $30 odd saving isn't insignificant.

The CSR I spoke to wasn't able to offer anything, but did allude to some changes "in the next few months". I understand things have only changed in the past week so they might be working on something. I'm not even asking for a monetary saving, maybe just including say 15gb in the plan. Surely keeping a customer and having them pay something is better than losing to the competition, unless the margins are just too thin.

Any thoughts/comments.

Are you comparing apples with apples? The reason I ask is that I don't know many other ISPs where you get...

-No contract and termination fees.

-Data usage rounded up to the nearest Mb instead of Gb.

-Pay for what you use (most make you purchase a minimum amount of data, plus they round up to the nearest Gb).

-Very competitive data pricing (works out at $1.02/Gb; most will have you purchase a huge block of data before you even get close to this price).

-User-controllable data management for the ultimate in flexibility.

-Voice traffic doesn't come out of the data traffic, i.e., you don't end up paying data charges on top of your voice calls (most others do).

-Advanced voice features with even the most basic voice option.

the CSR already told you there are some changes in the works.
it's a bit unreasonable to see an offer you like and within a few days call your current provider and ask them to match it / come up wth a counter offer to keep you on board. Companies just do not work this way.

You could always jump to vodas offer then in a few weeks / couple of months time see world exchanges offer is better but you will be locked into a voda contract

Thanks MrAndreas, you make some good points I hadn't considered. Also need to consider what VFX's performance would be like running over another ISP.

farcus, yes maybe a bit unreasonable, however WxC are a smaller player in the market, so I would suggest they need to compete on service if they can't on price. The power companies are pretty good at offering incentives to stay.
