I know of a few people who have called up Vodafone and have ended up getting free access from the helpdesk. I myself got 3 months free access because I called up to cancel my account. Has anyone got free access for minor complaints or threatened to disconnect? What free access did you get

I got an email from retentions saying they want to 'talk' to me as well.

They didn't do it the first time when I said I wanted to disconnect but this time...

You should try probing and see if they are willing to offer you a You Choose plan with no term contract. I heard there may be some flexibility occuring.

Good idea. I might do that.

In unrelated discussion, my phone has not been unbarred it seems as the voluntary suspension was supposed to be lifted on the 15th. Chinamobile support is a bad joke. I'm flying out tomorrow and I like having the account active a few days before just incase anything goes wrong.

I'll probably hassle them about it in Australia since I have a big gap between flights and calls to 777 are free as long as you are on the Voda AU network (according to their site).

They seem to be finaly valuing their customers, now if they only spent half their advertising budget on new systems and existing customer value.....

for now i'm abusing their 2 hour weeknight calls and that datacabledis doing very nicely with those free TXT weekends.

Well, I got a call from retentions yesterday. Went quite well - was much better than talking to customer services, who regarding this issue dropped the ball a bit.

I got a few free minutes and a credit as a goodwill geisture. It covers most or all of the overcharging.

Only complaint was the anytime, any network minutes seemed to be used first when I made a VF-VF call (it ideally should have used my VF-VF minutes first).

Having said that, the issue as far as I know has not been resolved and as a result - I'll avoid Vodafone live and MMS'ing like the plague and use a different handset.

Vodafone have just sent out SMS's again this morning offering double topups yet again for prepay customers. This is the 2nd time I've received these on my prepay and apparently the same offer was sent out at towards the end of Jan as well to more targetted customers.

If you are a contract customer I strongly suggest you phone or email Vodafone and express your concern than they seem quite happy to be offering such deals to prepay users and yet contract customer who generate the higher APRU for Vodafone seem to be completely ignored. Trying to defend their comments that they target different customers with differnet offers but it's even at the end of the day is just cr*p - if I was a large corporate customer I'd be pissed off that a prepay customer can be making call 24/7 and paying only 25c per minute for those calls and 10c for SMS's. Customers on the lower end contract's don't seem to ever get anything!

In reply to sbiddle comment above..

The reson why vodafone have got the Prepay Bonus is because Contract customers usually get alot more deals with there connection and handsets.

People on Contracts pay there monthly access fee to get there free minutes aswell as text messages depending on the plan.

As for Prepay customers there services are basiclly "pay as you go" only benefits prepay has is "Free text weekends and the Let yourself go" (talking promo)

Prepay do not have the opportunity to go on term contracts or get subsidised handsets like contracts do, aswell as they dont have the option of having bundled minutes and sms like contract does.

Vodafone does like to try and look after both consumer and business customers as much as they can, we no vodafone's not perfect and wont please everybody, But there are some people that it does please and are most greatful to services like these.

Cheerz

How come I NEVER get the special deals, mates all get free phones, Double topups, and I have $700 on my prepay! it lives in that old 6210 pictured above so I could "do" with another phone (My 6210 has the best RF perfomance of any handset I know)

Seconded.

Though I did agree to the rententions offer, I'm really having second thoughts about it.
I still think that at the moment with Let yourself go and Double topups that prepaid is probably the way to go almost.

Its also very annoying that the rententions 'offer' of anytime, anynetwork minutes get used up first for calling Voda-to-Voda... I would have liked to save them for something more special like 027 or landline calling.

My 027 account is on Park plan, my Woosh as well now..

I can call anyone in most parts of the world for 49c anytime.

I can call anyone in NZ at moment for a fraction of the Landline price of a long duration call...
Just choose which phone to pull out.

Much less hassle with "did I use up my free minutes" or "did I go over them and expect a big bill" I'm finding this much much better at the moment that "free" minute plans ever were.

I was paying double that ($1 a min for first 50) on Anytime Go 50
even on Anytime Go 400, my first 400 minutes cost 54c.. not a very nice deal at all.

Carrying two phones really is worth it's "weight" in gold.

All on Prepaid. (Pre Pay)

(I lie, 027 phone is on Go Onebill with no landline due to PrePay rounding minutes to full minutes and OneBill MatesRates being per second after first minute like Vodafone)

I'll make a new post... hmmm interesting topic.

Could you please give me an example? This keeps getting mentioned continually yet I've never had any form of deal offered to me.

The simple fact is regular prepay users are currently getting some of the best deals around on Vodafone. Fullstop.

Is this if you're on a plan? I remember back when I had off-peak advantage (unlimited offpeak calling) that it was great because any free minutes that they gave you would only be used after any included minutes. Since all offpeak to phones within the metropolitan calling area if you were in one and to 021/027 was free they effectively became free peak time minutes which was great.

I will probably ask Customer services and check it out on Monday.

Man I never get special deals.

I'm about to pull the pin on Vodafone move to Telecom because they don't seem interested at all at keeping me happy at all! and I'm purchased a $1200 JAM off them and then spend a couple of thousand dollars with them every year with them. Weird.

Update: Found out the minutes were just Voda to Voda minutes even though I was told that they could be used for any network.

We sorted something out as I had made a call on that day on the impression that I'd be covered by these minutes.
