Vodafone has launched bonus prepay minutes for weekend when customers topup $20 or more...

More information here and full release below:

Vodafone is launching  Top Up Bonus for Supa Prepay customers.

Supa Prepay customers who top up by $20 a month will get 100 free minutes of weekend calling to any Vodafone New Zealand mobile, and any landline in the country.

“We’ve got a great history of giving our customers freedom in the weekends with Free TXT, Free Weekends and Talker for our On Account customers. Now we’ve introduced something new for those who make most of their calls over the weekend. One hundred free minutes for use on the weekend is a huge amount of value on top of Supa Prepay’s existing offers,” says Vodafone general manager of consumer marketing, Kursten Shalfoon.

“By spending $20 a month, Vodafone customers can get  [takes a big breath] 2000 TXT messages to Vodafone mobiles, 1000 minutes and 1000 TXTs to their BestMate and now 100 minutes of weekend calling to any Vodafone New Zealand  mobile and any landline in the country.”

This offer includes landlines from other providers such as Telecom, TelstraClear, Slingshot, Orcon or any others.

Shalfoon says there’s more to come from Vodafone this year.

“We intend to shake up the market as we’ve never done before. The New Zealand market is highly dynamic and vibrant, and Prepay, On Account, data and fixed line services are all in for some drama and excitement as we compete for customers.”

I will leave the "nothing for on account?" comments for you folks...

2 degrees must be hurting them, with the number of people switching. THey should also remove that $1 call tarrif they charge prepay cusomters, if you need customer service.

While removing the $1 they should make customerservice actually able to... you know... serve... Last time I called they were no help and still pinged me the dollar. Even if its free, no help is still useless.

Systems are not available is a very very lame excuse.

Eventually found out that fax CSD wasnt available on prepay, but not from the CS people ;)
