I require an interface to send bulk MMS/PXT to 23,049 clients on a regular basis. (Purly opt in, not spam).
I also need to be able to collect any responses, though this would be minimal.

How can I do this?.

Do the carriers offer an API for this?. I cant seem to find much information on their sites.

Failing that, Would it be feasible to send out the MMS using a series of 3G modems.
Given a good connection how long would this take?. I am assuming when I send MMS messages to more than one person using my phone its only doing the upload once and sending out notifications pointing to the one instance of the image or is there a part of the MMS spec that requires instances be deleted upon receiving?.

Would it be possible to go one step further and connect to the MMSC directly over wire instead of over the air?.

If sending MMS fails, Anybody know if the carriers allow WAP Push?.

I appreciate any time you may have spent on this question.
Thank you.

If you don't need a return path then Clickatell is a good option. I use it myself. It won't be much cheaper than going through the local telcos though. RunTheRed can run the entire campaign for you - but it won't be cheap.

I know Vodafone and Telecom offer a SMPP Service, to do it on the cheap it would be better to get an agreement with both, or if one offers you the same cost on-net and off-net then go with them.  Then all you would need to do is make sure everyone is on-net vs off-net by sms-spaming the text 300 number and you would be away.  With Telecom there is the mmsgallery which you can send PXT's from your browser, not sure how it's charged though.
