Hi Everyone

I hope I am in the right forum.

For quite a while now I have been having problems with websites loading on my pc. I significantly notice the ones on Blogspot (these are probably the ones I go to most). It is the pics that don't load... sometimes never load!

I am with Paradise (Telstraclear), Broadband. I also seem to get quite a few 'time outs' now.

Could anyone please suggest what I can do?

Thank you
Donna

Moved this to correct forum...

What DNS are you using on your PC and router? Could you try using 203.97.78.43 and 203.97.78.44 (if not already)?

Thanks for helping.

I am on Vista - Am I doing the right thing?
Ctrl Panel
Network & Internet
LAN
Network and sharing
Manage Network Connections
Choose the only one there LAN
Amongst other listings is TCP/IPv6 & TCP/IPv4
All the settings are currently set up as automatic

When I try to type in the V6 it says the numbers aren't correct (it doesn't have the dots between the numbers you type in either.
I can type them into V4. but it requires me to put in the IP address/Mask/gateway. I do have those written down - shall I put them in and then the numbers you have given me for the DNS

Open a command prompt and run IPCONFIG /ALL... You will find your current DNS there.

If your PC is running with automatic settings it means it's getting the numbers from your router.

Frustrating. I can type in IPCONFG /ALL and press enter but the black little screen only flicks very quickly on the screen and goes away.

You can scroll up and down the window.

Or type

IPCONFIG /ALL > X.TXT
X.TXT

This will redirect the output to a text file and the next line will open it in Notepad.

Also you have to open the command prompt

Click on the Windows Orb and type CMD, then press enter... Only then enter the commands.
