I'm looking at adding a T-Box to my TelstraClear package. (I think if I drop my new 20GB plan back to the 10GB I had before and pay the $500 up front, then the monthly fee will be about the same)

However when I went into the shop for a look, the guy told me that if you don't get the HD ticket, even though you still get TV1, 2, and 3 they're not "real HD" and there are problems with picture size and captions not fitting on the screen. 

He seemed a bit confused about what he was trying to tell me, so I wonder if anyone can confirm - are TV1, 2, and 3 in HD or not, if you don't have an HD ticket?

What about pay per view movies - are they HD?

Finally, do you have an option to record an HD channel in SD if you need to save disk space?
