Important notice
From 24 April 2006, New Zealand on account customers roaming on Vodafone Australia will again incur a roaming surcharge when sending TXT messages - a charge Vodafone has absorbed since 2000. Consistent with other roaming destinations, customers roaming on Vodafone Australia will incur a surcharge. Subject to exchange rates, a fee of 44 cents will be charged in addition to the flat rate of 20 cents (incl. GST) per txt.

"absorbed" yeah right....

To make it even MORE confusing.... This applies to ON ACCOUNT only,, the last change applied to PREPAY only...

ARGH.. Dog box for you Vodafone, Put up your prices fair enough, but keep it TIDY!!  silly

Tongue out REVENGE OF THE SMIIILY!!!!

You're a bit slow - I posted this a few weeks ago and it was discussed in another thread! :-)

The problem is that Vodafone's 3rd world billing system can't handle roaming surcharges - you've been able to autoroam to the UK and pay the standard 20c for an SMS since prepay autoroaming was launched yet a contract customer has to pay the SMS surcharge!

Just make sure if you ever set up prepapy roaming and visit an autoroaming country that you check your bill. When I was in Europe with my girlfriend last year she got debited for all UK calls and SMS's on her prepay account as well as being charged on her prepay roaming account. After getting home and then travelling to Australia the following month it happened again!

Really?

I don't recall getting the message. Just the 777, the GPRS roaming and something else. I was overthere on the 2nd Jan 2006.

Still, It's a bit of a desperate way so squeeze revenue from customers, Frown

They need to make stuff a common price, not have this thing for prepay. then another from on-account

Still... compare anything to the banks,,, who cares,, Telco's are really sweethearts compared to evil banks! and their "new" charges (and councils)   Banks... this needs it's own thread, this needs it's own SITE!. www.bankhatezone.co.nz? www.wehatebanks.co.nz? www.hellbanks.co.nz!

Just got the SMS to my data number... Long last!
