Ugggh, Additional Traffic Usage charge of $30.66 for 800-odd MB on our latest bill. Except the good old reliable usage meter reports no such thing. So I ring up the helldesk, wait 20mins hearing that nauseating voice constantly harping on about "we sorry we can't take your call". Finally talk to someone til I'm blue in the face. It seems he can only see my usage going back to Oct 10- that's helpful considering the period in question is from Sep 30 - Oct 29. Starts rattling off my daily usage since then up to Nov 11 and says it's a valid bill. Claims I could have a virus that's why I went over. I'm trying to tell him that the usage meter for that period clocked in at 23.6gb, and that I've never been over 25gb. In the end I just said forget it and hung up. Wow, can't they even look up the monthly stats and see there's no excess usage there? http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/1982/usagetc.jpg

Find another ISP? That will teach them!

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Yeah, well, I'm not paying for something I didn't use. Sent a message with a screenshot of usage meter via the online "Email Us" page, but I suspect that's just a black hole and no one will read it!

Funny thing is the message in their website now: "We're updating the website but we won't be closed for long"...

Unreliability of the Telstraclear's usage meter and lame-ness of the auto data block system for their adsl plans (use 31GB get charged for 4x10GB aka 40GB) is the #1 reason I switched away from Telstra to Telecom (then Big Time) now Pro (40GB) with $2 per GB over that.

The grass is greener imo.
