Anyone else having provisioning problems like this...

I'm coming up 5 weeks now since i moved house and i've been without internet and phone. I can understand complex OO or GWS taking this long, but i would have thought re-provisioning DSL should be rather trivial.

I know its not a free port in the exchange problem since my friends moved in just down the road a week ago and they were connected within 2 days (they're with Telecom). I’ve been asking for updates from xnet, but no real sense of urgency from xnet - "we have had no update from telecom"

mobile cell / broadband costs are really piling up.

is this an xnet thing or telecom thing?

I can vouch for this to, but not just with xnet.

I have a customer that has been waiting over two weeks to get telecom wholesale to connect a telstraclear dsl. And a vodafone one was connected to the wrong line TWICE!!

I don't know whats happening in hamilton with telecom wholesale but it is very annoying.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

The order is still broken and we have a rfs date of tomorrow for them to fix it.... Not good, you are our customer so it's our responsibility to get this sorted on your behalf, 3 weeks is far to long and I apologize for this ... I'm not happy over this at all as it's very poor.

We have raised this as a major issue right now with Telecom wholesale and are trying to get them to escalate as this is effecting a number of our customers and other service providers as well, but the buck stops with us as you are our customer, again I do apologize for the unacceptable delay.

How annoyed would you be if that was the last free port?
Sounds pretty bad really. Both times I've moved with xnet (fusion) it's been really good.

The problem is, nobody seems to take advantage of prior notice.  I recently moved and cant really fault Xnet except nobody put my request into Telecom/Chorus to do the change till 2 days before( and that only happened after me ringing up to check multiple times).

I gave over a months notice to Xnet, so was surprised I then had to wait the usual 7 - 10 days after we had moved for Chorus to do their work seems if the request was put in earlier with Telecom/Chorus it would have happened earlier.  There wasnt a reason to delay as our new place was vacant for weeks.

Compare this to the people taking over our old place (who were with Telecom for internet/phones), they secured the flat less than 2 weeks before we were due to move out, yet the Chorus guy turns up on the friday of the weekend we were moving out to switch the services across (we asked him to Delay, so he rescheduled it monday, so in other-words I put my request to move in more than 2x ahead of them, yet they would have had services ready before they moved, where as I still had to wait 10 days after I moved Cry

Still you have to expect these things!

I came to Geekzone to find just this sort of post. And now I am very worried. 5 Weeks is simply un livable for us.

We are now 7 days behind schedule and no Xnet phone/internet. Tech has been called 5-6 times for updates. They have explained the situation with Telecom and Chorus being the issue, but this is just a joke of a national infrastructure if it is the case.

I rely on internet for work, and my flatmate has a contractual requirement for a landline for her work which has already been bought up by her employer.

I understand it's not Xnet's direct fault (Or any other company on Telecom wholesale). But Xnet is Telecom's customer and thus Telecom is surely open to fielding "motovational" calls from Xnet when it is affecting Xnet's image.

But by simple need for service we are tempted to sign up with Xtra, which was active in the new house 10 days ago. At least I will have an avenue to give Telecom such calls myself. I have been in touch with the former inhabitants of this house and they had their Telecom phones and interent connected at their new address just over the bridge within 2 days. Go figure.

I have been waiting for over a week. Xnet have been very helpful but unable to get any progress from Telecom Wholesale. I've decided to approach Telecom Wholesale directly myself and try and find out what the problem is. Contact details are availble here.
