Hi all, I have just configured Elastix in a virtual machine on my home network and forwarded ports from my firewall to the pbx box. I have my modem in DMZ mode so firewall is handling all port forwarding to local addresses. Ports UDP 5060 and the UDP range 10001 - 20000are forwarded.

I seem to be registered OK and I made an outgoing call to a mates house fine and sound quality was great, I used the 3CX SIP softphone for iphone which is awesome by the way. Anyway, I cannot get any incoming calls working, calls go straight to xnet voice message "The party you are trying to reach is not available to take your call".

sip show registry

Host dnsmgr Username Refresh State Reg.Time
pan.wxnz.net:5060 N 95353057 165 Registered Wed, 01 Dec 2010 21:17:59
1 SIP registrations.

Trunk PEER info as follows:

type=peer
fromdomain=pan.wxnz.net
fromuser=95353057
host=pan.wxnz.net
insecure=very
canreinvite=no
nat=yes
secret=XXXXXXXXXXXX
username=XXXXXXXXXXXX
dtmfmode=rfc2833
allow=g729&ilbc&ulaw&alaw
context=from-trunk

Trunk Incoming USER details as follows:

type=friend&user
username=XXXXXXXXXXXX
secret=XXXXXXXXXXXX
context=from-trunk
host=pan.wxnz.net

I have also configured a group and added all extensions to it, and have then created an incoming route with has its destination set to the group. That is as far as I have got and I am a bit stuck now.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no need to make things complex and have incoming user settings.

I assume you have a G.729 codec installed since you're allowing it?

OK so I should just clear the USER section? Not sure, I didn't install any extra codecs so if that isn't standard then I presume not. So I should also replace "allow=g729&ilbc&ulaw&alaw" with "allow=ilbc&ulaw&alaw" ?

Cheers.

Just follow the instructions that are in the sticky post on here

[VFX]
type=peer
fromdomain=as.wxcnz.net
fromuser=VFXNumber ; this is your VFX Number without the leading 0 i.e. 9950XXXX
host=as.wxcnz.net
insecure=invite,port
canreinvite=no
nat=yes
secret=PASSWORD
username=USERID

register=VFXNumber:PASSWORD:USERID@as.wxcnz.net/VFXNumber

Or you can use pan.wxnz.net - just be aware of the DNS issues Asterisk can encounter if you're using FQDN's for hostnames.
