Having exactly the same problem here in Wellingon. Was streaming tv and the all of a sudden it stopped and have nothing. The service info on TelstraClears website claims everything is working ok but I've noticed before that they don't update that when there's a problem!

The oddest thing is that Skype is working for me, try it if you have it and let me know if it's working for you too.

Thankfully I still have data with 2degrees on my iPad :-)

Ah yes so it does, I have figured out that this seems to be a dns problem because if you use and IP address to lookup pages they work, e.g google 210.55.180.158 loaded just fine

I'm in kapiti and the net stopped working too, I'm with paradise, I figured the DNS sever might be down so tried the clear net DNS sever, and net is now working perfect with it.

Clear.net dns server are

203.97.33.1
203.97.37.1

Def a DNS issue. I'm in Newtown and my cable connection wasn't working.

Changed DNS to Clear servers as above and now loading - thanks for the tip

Do not follow this advice. If you use a third party DNS your PC/router won't receive the correct IP addresses for local caches.

This will impact on access to things like YouTube and other Google services (because TelstraClear hosts a Google cache), or have problems accessing services that rely on Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) with geographically distributed servers that return different IP addresses depending on where your DNS is based. This includes Facebook, Twitter, Apple and others that use Akamai for example.

DO NOT USE THIRD PARTY DNS UNLESS YOU KNOW THE RISKS.

The Paradise DNS servers have been dodgy for years. There have been numerous threads on here from people who have even had trouble accessing sites that work prefectly in the Clear ones.
