I recently decided to switch from my VF Ideal bundle to naked broadband and get local zone for my mobile to save a couple of $$. I went into a VF store about a month ago to sign up for local zone but the sales guy wasn't sure if I was able to keep my number because I would have to terminate my land line and broadband connection to move to naked - but at the same time I'd like to keep my old phone number for local zone. He told me he'd check with VF's technical support team to see if there's a way to keep my number - I haven't heard back since.

I thought I'll try my luck here to see if someone had a similar issue and if/how it got resolved?

Thanks for your help

Hi John

thanks for your reply. I went to my local VF store today and signed up for local zone, but got a new number. I was told I would have to actually terminate my current connection to keep my number for local zone (it would disappear if I just change to naked broadband?), but that would have involved being without an internet connection for up to 15 days (worst case). It also meant potentially breaking my current contract, which means an early termination fee (that could have been waived) and then getting reconnected with naked broadband again. I rely on my Internet connection for work from home and other stuff so that wasn't an option and in the end biting the bullet and getting a new number seemed the easiest and most convenient option.

Sorry for the waste of time Embarassed
