Hey all,

I've been a telstraclear broadband customer for all of 2 days (took 5 weeks to finally get connected).

So, I've done about 1.5Gb of traffic so far.

When I try to see my usage on the usage meter, it says:
"There is no usage information available for this High Speed Service"

Does this mean it's not tracking my usage, tracking my usage and not telling me, or only updates once in a blue moon?

Feed back appreciated :-)

You'll get billed for it even if you can't see how much you've used. Give it a few more days to work out you're a customer, or call TC - from a hands free phone.

I joined TC about 2 weeks ago also... It took about 3 days for the usage meter to start giving me any info also...

Im led to believe that the website then only updates daily - if you get the TUC program then that can give you live updates...

Tuc doesn't give you live update (we can only wish). TUC gets it's data from the same usage meter page that you see when you log in.

You don't choose a book by its cover but it does determine which ones you read.

With NetWorx You Can ...

  • Find out and monitor how fast your Internet connection is.

  • Find out and monitor how much Internet traffic you consume.

  • Detect a suspicious network activity on your computer.

  • Perform simple network tests such as ping and trace route.

  • Be notified about excessive Internet usage.

I (personally) love it.

Problems with your solution (from what I can see)

It only works on a per computer basis, ie, It doesn't record data usage from computers with no NetWorx software, internet enabled Tv's and other devices including Mobiles, or data from modified router based devices.

Also from experience, my ISPs don't seem to log as much traffic as I know I use(based from my own usage meter app and at very small amounts MBs rather than GBs), so I think keeping an eye on the approved ISP one would still be your best bet.

But I think, complementing your ISP's usage meter with products like NetWorx can only help.

When an account is setup the "Customer Zone" Profile is created with includes the usage meter, It can take a few days before the radius server starts crunching the data it collects . But do be aware it is counting.
