What's up with the vodafone website? When I try to access it I get

HTTP Server Error 503
No available server to handle this request

The mobile version's up, but it's not very helpful.

Correct, website down - 503 is "Server unavailable".

The website is back.

johnr: We have some INFO up on the Vodafone NZ forum

Are those issues related to the domain www.vodafone.co.nz being down and returning 503 (something like restarting the server causes 503 for example)?

The whole website was down, not just the bit in that log. Good to see it back up :)

I always like a bit of technical humour.

Monday 13th 20:42 and the www.vodafone.co.nz site is down via iHug

I see the last person to suggest this, was directed to a URL for information.
The same URL reported as being down. Smile

I respect johnr's expertise and hope he sees the humour.

[EDIT] - I stand corrected, I can reach forum.vodafone.co.nz, but not www.vodafone.co.nz.

Routing issues aye.

C:\>tracert www.vodafone.co.nz

Tracing route to www.vodafone.co.nz [202.nnn.nnn.nnn] over a maximum of 30 hops:

"Request timed out" could just be that that specific piece of equipment is not responding to ping requests. I get that at almost the same point, but www.vodafone.co.nz is working for me.

Cool.

Shows now much I have to learn on ICMP packet filtering.

Probably just me then.

Using the same Laptop, but different IP address and network, it works fine.

Just my iHug fixed-line connection doesn't bring up the www.vodafone.co.nz web page.
Proxy cache, routing, DNS... who knows.

Not really worried, as was only checking on mobile phone prices and I can get them elsewhere.

Sort of sorry, I even mentioned it really. Saw the original post, knew I couldn't get to www.vodafone.co.nz and then just made the assumption the Earth was flat.

Is it down again?

I just tried going there and I get:

"HTTP Server Error 503

No available server to handle this request"
