Hi,

I have just signed up for VFX and was wondering if my setup will work.  My plan is to have my DSL with vodafone and use their modem/router.  I have a SPA2102 for use as my VoIP device.  this will be plugged into my vodafone router.  VFX only wanted the MAC address of the SPA2102 in order to set it up - will this work, or do I need to set up port forwarding, etc on the VF router??

Thanks

Andy

This should work fine.

I'd suggest giving the SPA2102 a static IP on your LAN (rather than using DHCP) or set up your router to give it the same IP address each time.

Xnet seem to use some pretty good NAT travesal smarts, so there is generally no config requirered on your modem/router. Occasionally people need to port forward a couple of ports though...

As RunningMan advises, set your 2102 for a static IP and just plug the wan port in your router and generally you should be fine, nat should take care of itself with the setup we use, but if any issues then we can help with some port forwards but usually most newer routers are pretty good with SIP.
