Hello, We've been out of the country for 18 months and haven't kept current. Also, I am not getting any results from using the site search so I must ask the following questions.

Since we left, 3gX has been deployed by Vodafone. We are mobile and currently in an extended area and so have purchased a Vodafone USB stick. We would like to purchase a mobile broadband router and we have looked into the Cradlepoints. We have a friend who has a Cradlepoint and he uses a Vodafone stick with it successfully but his stick is older and does not support 3Gx.

Can anyone tell me for certain that their Cradlepoint router is working with a K3565Z usb stick?

If yes, which model?

Are there other routers you know will work?

We prefer the router idea as when we travel to other countries, we can hopefully use a different usb stick. We have a Clear stick for US (we know that is supported) and an EVDO stick for Fiji (couldn't get an answer from Cradlepoint).

Hello,

Vodafone sells two different versions of the K3565:

K3565-H which is a Huawei E160X (Rev.2 models carry the hardware ID "K3565")

K3565-Z which is produced by ZTE (no equivalent in ZTE's product range)

Unfortunatly the Router Vodafone supplies (HG556a) does not support the ZTE version.

Try the TP Link TL-MR3420, they list the K3565-Z as compatible.

Thank you. That is one router I hadn't found.

For anyone else in the same situation, maybe I can save you some trouble. Here is what I discovered:

Cradlepoint folks don't know for certain whether their router will work with my the K3565Z modem.

Netcomm lists a couple of routers that claim to be compatible.

I found that Zoom Telephonics has routers that support this modem specifically. Buying a Zoom is difficult here in NZ. Since I am a Yank, I'll order one from the States since I need the 110 power plug adapter for our boat.
