I've been following the thread in the vodafone forum which details how to access the Huawei HG routers VOIP settings and wondered if VFX can be set up in this way?  I know that VFX needs the MAC of the ATA to work, but could it be used with the vodafone router, rather than a separate ATA (which is my current setup.

Open VFX will allow any device to connect as long as it supports seperate user and authid in the VOIP settings, you would need to configure the device your self though as we do not support Open VFX device directly

And where do I find what my Open VFX settings should be - the website just says to phone?  Can I have two devices on one line?  I currently use a Linksys 2102, would I need to de-activate this in order to set up Open VFX?

Thanks

Andy

Yes correct, you would then be sent the details once you swap to OpenVFX, when we control the devices the configs are locke down to the units, you can not have 2 devices with the same credentials on the line at once as they will over ride each other.

So am I right in thinking if I swapped to open VFX my current linksys will work perfectly (as the settings are set up by VFX already), I could then unplug the linksys and try the Huawei on Open VFX and if it doesn't work, just plug the linksys back in?

Or is it easier to set up a second line to experiment with?

no once you swap to OpenVFX a new set of credientials will be produced and the old ones removed so the 2102 will no longer work.

It will be easier to get a second line on OpenVFX if you wish to experiment
