Hi My wife has bought a (At&T Branded) Samsung SGHA86 mobile phone,

Seems to work fine, with everything except for handling images, and more than likely other multimedia attached to txt messages.

It seems to know the size of the sent image, and has a retrieve option - not sure if this is normal, then clicking that seems to just load the txt message again with seemingly no image data.

Anyone have any ideas on solving this problem?

Have you tried sending a PXT (MMS) to the same mobile number? Just sending a PXT to the yourself

TXT (SMS) and PXT (MMS) are very different services

MMS settings are here

Or you could always try

If your handset model is not listed pick the next best thing,

Are you talking about the A867 Eternity?? I have one running on 2D and MMS retrieve is automatic. On XT I always had to do the retrieve trick it never downloaded automatically. When i did the retrieve it always failed. If it is the above fone there is also a software bug that if the fone is turn off and someone sends a SMS to you it will not appear as a new message when it is turned on. It will appear if the fone is power cycled again. Also some Eternitys have real problems with bad outgoing speech (like talking into a paper bag) . If you have the speech problem reply and I'll give you the info on how to fix it..
The fone is real easy to setup and use but quality wize it leaves something to be desired.

OK, Wife just said the problems now fixed, will hassle her tonight and post what settings its using, I did change the settings to auto download yesterday but didn't seem to work for the txt messages already received  - not sure if this makes a difference.

Will post the answer,
