I got one of those about a month ago, I believe they have been randomly choosing people.
Great offer though especially if you get it just before you were going to top up

These messages are sent out of a fairly regular basis to large numbers of prepay customers and tend to annoy a lot of contract customers who feel ripped of that prepay customers tend to get all the deals.

People don't complain enough. Particularly as Sbiddle said - Prepaid users seem to get all the neat deals.

And what? Do they owe anyone anything? If I were to stand I a crowd of 50 people and give $10 each to 12 of them, is that being unfair to the remaining 38? NO it is not. I just get very tired of people complaining about everything and wanting it all for nothing.

I'm not sure I'd agree with this. I've been offered just one double up, back in December sometime.
Since then the whole "You Choose" thing came along, which I may have been tempted by but was not available to prepay users.

As a whole, I'm looking more towards Telecom. My kids are after phones and I would certainly get them a Telecom phone. Vodafone don't seem to be able to offer anything to compete with the $10txt or the new freedom option.

As a phone user that just does quite a bit of txt and the occasional call, Vodafone seem to have gone crazy over 3G and forgotten about the everyday user.

You Choose isn't a prepay solution, it's an an account solution. How do you think they could possibly make You Choose available to prepay users?

I don't think anyone here is wanting it all for nothing. However when On Account customers are Vodafone customers too and when Prepaid users are offered special promotions, it does seem that prepay is better value for money at times.

This is where your analogy fails - its more like a crowd of fifty people who get split up between prepay and on account grouping... and then 12 random prepaid users are ofterred the promotion. So, its fair for prepaid users (because they have a possility to get the top up offer) while On Account users have no chance.

hello

i have had this promo the last 4 times consequtively (spelling) and i just top up $40 and get an extra $20 each time.
To all you pay monthly personnel who complain about prepaid getting the better deals, why dont u get to ur local voda store and buy a prepaid sim pack which im sure to most of you, if not all, is cheaper then 1 months cost on plan. Then you can get your desired plans you are jealous of. a simpack is what these days $35. And you even get a free get going credit.

This is not made to offend or make anyone snarky, its just the logic of it, and i mean you can hold on to your prepay(sim) number for as long as you want, remembering it can last one year without having to top it up. Is that not a logical idea?

Cheers :D

If this was true then all 50 would choose to be on prepay.  There's no perfect plan hence their unfair profits.  I'm tired of carrying two phones, makes me look like a geek!  When we finally get a 3rd network I'll switch to it out of spite.

Because:
a.) It would require a change of phone number.
b.) A prepaid account would not allow me to sign up for a data plan.
c.) Prepaid users face the risk of expectedly running out of credit.
d.) No bill means that it would be impossible to accurately and easily monitor my usage and spending.

Sorry guys, ignore my rambling was having a bad day, sometimes customers negativity just gets me down. I am sick of stupid people! I have a sign in my window that says "1c txt available now on any you choose plan" and the amount of people that can't get it through their thick skulls that it is for on account only is astonishing!

Maybe you should put on the sign " 1 cent SMS 021 to 021 or 029 for on account YOU CHOOSE customers only "

Woohoo!  I finally got those 50% bonus txt msg.........

And according to the msg, I have been chosen "again"!  When have I been chosen before?

But it's all good, I guess this is at least better than nothing, considering I have been hoping for the annual double top up that is 6 months overdue now......  I'll probably top up $270 to get about $400, enough to last the yr...
