I have a VFX line with a analogue phone plugged into my modem/router at home . All works fine.
I will be travelling through Turkey for 6 weeks later this year and would like to be able to use VFX via WiFi while I am away. I have the ComPilot set up on my laptop and can use it to generate a call while at home as it calls my VFX phone and then connects the call. What I want to know is that the only way it works. Can I not make the call from the laptop overseas without the phone. Is ther not a way of using the laptops microphone and speakers or a USB phone plugged into the Laptop.
Any suggestions welcome on alternatives ways of doing this

Best bet get a second line OpenVFX then you can use a softphone on your laptop, counterpath eyebeam is a very good client and the one i use myself.

When you have finished and if it's not something you would use often then cancel the 2nd line.

Or if you don't need the line still active at home, change to open VFX whilst away, rather than 2nd line.
