Hey hey,

So usually the signal where I live is pretty good.

However in the past weeks it has been degrading hugely.

I'm now at the stage where I cannot get any signal. I have an iPhone and after restarting my phone 7 zillion times If I'm lucky I might get 1 bar of gsm signal.

On another note, in the last few days I can't receive calls. I just get the texts saying someone called, even if I have signal. This also has happened to my family which is almost impossible to get ahold of as it pretty much always goes to voicemail.

I should also mention that I'm having problems with 3g data. On the occasional chance where I get some 3g signal, anytime I try to use data it will almost instantly change to 2g. Even if I have strong 3g strength.

I'm pretty positive it's not my phone as I haven't noticed it anywhere else apart from where I live.

I think it's a bit embarrassing for Vodafone since I can see there head office from my house, so it would be likely that I'm using the same cell tower (or Three Lamps otherwise).

So it would be really good if someone at Vodafone could fix it, I would really love to make and receive phone calls.

And hopefully Vodafone has not introduced a pager network in the area, cause it seems a lot like it!

Welcome to the woes of trying to get good VF service in this area!

You're not in one of the Hargreave St apartments by any chance?

I experience a number of issues in this area too, one of the main ones being that it takes a good 10s or so to connect a call after hitting the answer button on my iPhone.  I don't experience this issue anywhere else...

When I used to own an old Nokia phone which displayed the cell site it was connected to, depending on where I was in my apartment, it would say one of 3 different sites!  This could be the main reason why we experience these issues...

I'm actually on New St so 200m away or so.

Yea up till last year, you would loose all signal while going down College Hill, so if you were on a call you would always get cut off when you hit College Hill.

I tweeted this thread to Vodafone, see if we get a response.

OK as of this afternoon Matsta has had no issue with coverage. I think we know what could of been causing the issue for this location but it's not comfirmed yet.

Just talked to John on the phone, figured out it has to do with some things at the Harbor Bridge site. But by the sounds of it, most of the issues should be resolved very soon. Anyway fingers crossed it works, I'm gonna keep testing it over the weekend :)
