Yes, if you have the advanced feature set, there is selective call rejection and more

http://www.xnet.co.nz/vfx/advanced.shtml

Selective Call Rejection:
Enables you to define criteria that cause certain incoming calls to be blocked. If an incoming call meets your specified criteria, the call is blocked and the caller is informed that you are not accepting calls.

Better still, use selective call forward and forward them to the Callplus helpline, they will be stuck for hours ..... LoL , sorry don't take that serious just a little bit of bad humour after a long day :)

Forward to Auckland Council and ask to speak to someone regarding a building modification... theyll be sitting there with a ringing phone forever.

Thanks,
I was kind of hopeing there was a free version and I had missed it.

If they keep calling I will get the extra pack.

Another call this afternoon makes 6 in the last 24 hours, I think I might have annoyed them when I answered the call and put it down, the guy was still talking about holidays 1 1/2 mins later.

thanks

John

Try http://www.marketing.org.nz/ and ask to be added to the "do not call" list. Up to very recently it was an automated form to fill in, now you have to send an e-mail.

What I've done after the so-manyith-time of getting called about a DVS-equivalent system for our 40 year old house that is about to be demolished, I've e-mailed the company and said how stupid this is.

Then there was the other day when Vodafone yet again came door knocking and the guy would not leave until I explain in detail exactly how my setup works (which I did not) so I e-mailed Vodafone.

With VFX you have call logs to show all the calls. I can go to the police if the call more than a certain number of times in 24h. Just depends how much trouble you want to go to.

The problem is they are calling from overseas and they are scammers, they think they are above the law anyway.

I had 2 of these fellas ringing up on Friday night; it was the good ol "I am from Microsoft Security and your computer has a virus" line....first dude hung up on me when I laughed and told him he was a wan$er :( I thought that was very rude.
Second dude - not 30min later - tried to walk me through all this stuff, and when I made life too difficult (ie not covered in his run sheet), he said "oh sorry your computer is fine it must have been a mistake on our side; have a nice life" and hung up. No dedication.

I did the whole put my name down on the blacklist for the marketing org's and the volume of calls dropped off considerably...now we just get international randoms :(
