I was locked out of Vodafone forum because I complained too much, so I come here.
I have used this APN direct.Vodafone.net.nz for 4 months without any problem. But it suddenly stopped working last week. I thought I need to call the customer service people, but I decided to try changing the APN to the original www.Vodafone.net.nz, and my internet worked straight away.
Because www.Vodafone.net.nz can block certain inbound connection, some of my apps doesn't work on that APN. But the Direct one works with all my apps.
I don't know if the issue applies to the celltower in Rangiora only or not. I'm using the Novatel Mifi bought from Vodafone store.

Isn't there one called 'Internet' which you could use?

What apps don't work correct using the default www.vodafone.net.nz APN I would rather resolve the issue.

I know about the twitpic issue.

edit: I just checked your profile on the Vodafone NZ forum and you have no restrictions in place at all

There's a limit on the number of devices that can connect to "internet". Always use the official ones.

Ah ok John. I'm gonna have another look. Last month when I wanted to post something on voda forum, I was told that I didn't have rights to post. So I thought I was blocked by the forum administrator.

Ah thought it was an official one? Been a while since I last looked at the apn setup.

I retract my statement then :)

The internet APN used to be handy because it was the only one that gave a real non NAT IP. www.vodafone.net.nz has done this for many years now.

When did you last try it on the default iphone APN?

at the moment, it's not the problem of the official APN, it's the problem of the "Direct" APN. I can't surf Internet on that direct APN.
I Last tried it a few months ago when skyfire app was launched on the app store. I will try again tomorrow.
For the time being, John, you need to fix the direct APN. It's not working now. Because the direct doesnt have any restriction on any inbound or outbound connection, it's better for me

For me I use iPhone 4 and sometimes inernet work some times it's just not load any pages at all. Like I load geekzone and it works then I load vodafone forum side on geekzone and it just not load and then I have to push the button ones more then it works same times that does not help too.
