Vodafone tweeted today:

We’re giving On Account customers double your plan minutes for 3 months! Will be in contact in April to tell you more…^MB

Is this in response to the news article about Vodafone losing thousands of customers to 2degrees?

If so, I would rather have (cheaper) BB plans that can be spread across multiple phones under the same account. Might make me feel better about keeping my business with Vodafone and not their cheaper rival 2degrees.

If so, I would rather have (cheaper) BB plans that can be spread across multiple phones under the same account. Might make me feel better about keeping my business with Vodafone and not their cheaper rival 2degrees.

Vodafone actually increased customer numbers in the last Quarter (ending in December) and I've heard some rumors lately indicating in the last few months things have been going very well also.

I'd also like to see an update to their smart plans rather than this. I never use all my minutes as it is, but data is always a shortage as I'm still on an old NON SMART plan. I don't think it's reasonable to jump on a 24 month contract when I may or may not see out the 24 months with their bonus 3 gig offer.

The Smart and iPhone plans include an extra 3Gig of data on top so your telling me you use over 3Gig per month?

Ha, I know they include that now, but i'm not going to sign up to a 24 month plan where I risk being stuck with 250mb when the 3gig gets dropped.

If I was going over 3Gig then that would be a fault of my own, I wouldn't blame VF for not offering more.

Reading your post above makes it sound like you are already on the Smart or iPhone plan

Sorry, not my intention, have been using a BB Lite plan and usually end up around 300 meg being conservative. Would move to Smart plan, if they substituted the bonus 3Gig for a smaller guaranteed data pack but with more than 250Meg

I hear what you are saying - you are worried because the 3GB is not guaranteed, and if it goes, 250MB is not enough. I agree. That is what is stopping me from changing to smart plans too.

Regarding the minutes, me and my wife each get 240 and 120 respectively (anytime), and we never use that much, but we only get 100MB which we constantly use over just from normal smart phone use.

It would be nice to choose between double minutes or more data. @johnr are you able to make suggestions to your colleagues who decide this?

I agree with the above. We have two accounts with Vodafone that end in November. We will resign to the smart plan if the 3GB becomes fixed otherwise we will be moving provider. Nothing against Vodafone service as it is excellent but our needs have changed.

Yeah just a useful amount that takes away the worry of going over. Not using phone for much data but would like to check emails a few times a day. It would make the phone more useful.

I'm currently on XT till june, at which point I'm likely to jump ship and I have to agree with the posts above me, fixing the data to 1 gig would make me move to VF instead of 2degrees.

I use all my 8GB per month on the Broadband Ultra plan through a R201. Would love to have 12GB and be able to use it through multiple SIMs, especially now that the iPhone works as a hotspot too.

MTR Rates will be changing next month, so whats the deal with VF and their 3 month promotions?

And about numbers - They will be very hurt since DSE their biggest reseller; has quit.

Hopefully mobile consumers will get a better deal after MTRs are regulated.
