Is anyone else having trouble with text messages on vodafone tonight? I can't send or receive to 027 or 022 numbers, and I can't receive from fishtext.com. 2degrees seems to be working perfectly. I'm in a suburb near central Wellington.

Calling's working fine.

Have you tried your Vodafone SIM in another phone or done any other basic trouble shooting?

Christchurch Vodafone is down too. It was working with my friend in Taupo so I assumed it was earthquake related, then it stopped for them. Vodafone is down..

I have two nokias, one with a vodafone sim, one with a 2degrees sim. I've just swapped the sim's between the phones. No matter what phone I put the sim's into I can't send between 2degrees and vodafone. The same thing happens when I swap them back. I can't send or receive between NZ networks. I can't text 027 numbers, I sent to texts in an hour then called someone and they didn't turn up.

Fishtext can now send messages to both phones.

My process of elimination suggests a network issue.

My SIM is really, really old. Like 8 years old. My main phone, the Vodafone, is a 1 year old Nokia. The other is a 3 year old Nokia, both just midrange phones.

Nope my wife is unable to send texts either. She has an iPhone 4 with an 8 months old micro sim on Vodafone and is unable to text my iPhone 4 which is on XT.

She's trying to text from Churton Park, Wellington

Texting working between Vodafone and Telecom in Chch tonight. Although we've had people over tonight (x3 iPhones included) and they've been losing 3g and 2g on and off all night. My phone however (Nokia e63 on Vodafone) has been fine.

I'm in Johnsonville, which is beside churton park. Maybe it's a localized problem.

I called Vodafone. A kid answered the phone and read his script, he knew nothing. I said it was a network issue, he said no network issues reported, take your phone to a store. I decided no point talking to him he's clueless, I'll call back tomorrow when the engineers are maybe available.

Just a FYI for the future its a good idea to say I can't send to 027 or 022 numbers as we have these numbers on Vodafone and the issue last night only would of impacted off-net SMS.

Sure, fair call, but I think even the lowest level helpdesk people  can work out what I mean ;)

It's not related to this thread as I have already posted the issue is resolved

The issue in this thread was ONLY sending SMS off-net to 2Degrees and Telecom NZ from Vodafone NZ
