Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to get a Instatnt Messenger type program going with one of these suckers?
I have tried both Agile Messenger and IM+ and neither seem to connect.

Which connection should i be using? The options are:
VFNZ Internet
VFNZ Gateway
VFNZ Gateway (01)

Cheers

You should make sure it is using the VNFZ Internet, as the gateway APN is generally for WAP traffic only.

Check with Vodafone CS that you have the wild card APN in the switch to have this you must have credit. (if on prepay)

Also delete the VFNZ gateway01 this is just a double up of VFNZ gateway

And yes only use VFNZ internet this will have the APN www.vodafone.net.nz (connects you to the outside world)

Also check out the costs of Vodafone Data before using the chat programme

Hmmm, I have tried to setup the email client in messaging for use with ihug.
That doesnt work either. I get Pcket Data: Packet Data connection not avaiable.

Trying VF CS now - but some of them are not very technically minded...

I use agile messenger connecting through vfnz internet (www.vodafone.net.nz) worked out of the box so to speak for me

perhaps direct.vodafone.net.nz  would give a different result?

VF CS said that I am missing a * in one of the switches in my settings - they are fixing it now :-)

As easy as that

Sounds like you are on prepay so its 10 cents per 10kb of data

Don't change your APN to direct.vodafone.net.nz if the wild APN ( * ) is not in the switch nothing will work to the internet world
