TCL had planned to drop analogue by 1 March and in preparation for that (not willing to pay $99 for the installation of a new decoder) I put in a Freeview HD box in the bedroom,
Well March 1 rolled up and still a picture. Then the other day I received a call from TCL saying that analogue was being dropped and I would need a new digital decoder. I asked why the picture was still there given the previous announcement about 1 March and they said, they hadn't been able to contact all subscribers about upgrade options so they provided an additional month's grace.
The deal now is a free digital decoder installation and only $5/month more service costs. Given I will be able to watch Food Network in the bedroom now, I guess that's a fair deal. I did enquire about going T-Box/Digital but they didn't know the cost since they were only calling to arrange for the replacement unit.
I think I will just stick to two digital STB's and use GBPVR to continue recording.
