i.e. the various Linksys dsl wifi devices ?

speaking of which none of the dsl wifi routers are listed with Ascent and PBtech who are WxC retailers for these devices

I'm considering VFX but only if I can have 802.11n and native IPv6

The SRP527 is wireless N, however it wont be upgraded to IPv6 untill late this year or early next year, it will be upgraded though as I have just finished having this discussion with Cisco

That is an expensive device !

I assume I could just use Linksys VoIP adapter i.e. SPAx102 off a far less expensive OpenWRT IPv6 setup or someone else IPv6 ready dsl/wifi n router ?

I appreciate the VoIP would be IPv4 but then I could browse native IPv6

I assume if I get a SPAx102 + VFX I can try your VoIP in parallel to my TCNZ landline before doing to Xnet fusion and landline number port ?

NB: I assume no term on VFX and will work bandwidth wise with my River plan b4 I go to Fusion ?

Yes your right Robert, I couldn't agree more with you unfortunately this was the replacement for the wag310 that they no longer ship to NZ , it is a SMB router that is very good but it is a tad on the expensive side, we have questioned Cisco on this numerous times but the price point has not moved down very much at this stage.

Yes you could and this is a pretty option, the Voice service only offered on IPv$ at present primarly due to the CPE not being able to do IPv^ and only a few of them will be able to upgraded, the newer boxes will be upgraded and there are new devices on the horizon which should support IPv6 out of the box.

SO you should be all good, points to check when setting up , make sure your router handles SIP natting, otherwise setup a Static on the SPA (good option in any case) and do a port forward for port 5060, most of the newer routers are pretty good at natting now but still a few are liable to affect SIP on a random basis.

The other option instead of SPAx0102 is the WRP400. I have found the voice quality on these is noticeably better than the older gear. In some cases I will install these just for voice - i.e. not use them for WiFi / LAN etc.

It's a shame there hasn't been a replacement for the SPAx102 series yet.

1. When ETA please !

2. Is the River plan ok for VFX i.e. will simultanous use e.g. download from the Internet affect a call ?

3. I called this morning and was somewhat disappointed to find out if I change plan from River [I didn't even know you had dropped it LOL] I cannot go back to it ! [the reason being to see if the better upload speed significantly improves Skype. Any ideas how I can trial FS/FS ?

Sorry I can give nothing away around this, they are coming but will still be a few months away. this will be a new product but I cant say by who and what it is at this stage.

FS/FS is always good and will offer beter performance, it will depend on how your router will handle the traffic beweeen your connection and the devices it handles , ie PC- Internet and the SPA2102, you should be able to set up some QOS, bandwidth reservation etc on your side depending on the router choice,
