Oh, come on! I thought you folks would be jumping on a plane to Auckland, driving to Datacom Albany data centre and checking in there, before coming back all the way ;)

The ping speed would vary a lot during peek times, also the number of red lights etc.

This looks like the same network osama was using :-)

I think you missed the joke. The "ping" discussion is not actually for network ping, but the "travel time" in that movie...

Sorry.... I posted in the middle of the joke with out actually looking much at what was going on....  my post really was just a random thought at the OPs post and video....

...the whole video was a bit random to me frankly....  I missed the shot of a massive server with a big GZ sticker on it :)

One thing that does worry me being a Telstra Clear  customer, the center at Seaview , Wellington is smack in the Tsunami flood zone.

My question is how could you start in West Karori, via a couple of tagged cabinets (wished the taggers were standing in front of them holding their hands in a funny position <rofl>) and out to Seaview to TCL NOC and back into Featherston St?? Where did Geekzone figure in that "traceroute" :)

My question for all IT folks - if one of those cables failed in the server room, how in the world would you know which one?
