Vodafone is dropping the price of data roaming in Australia to $0.50/MB, continuing its strategy of simplifying trans Tasman roaming and leading market pricing.

This new rate is available to prepay and on account customers.

$0.50/MB is the lowest data roaming price available to all customers on either side of the Tasman. While other carriers have opted for different pricing models for different customers based on their monthly spend, Vodafone is offering $0.50/MB to all customers.

Vodafone’s General Manager of Consumer Marketing, Kursten Shalfoon says the move is part of Vodafone’s ongoing commitment to offer the best value to customers heading to our most popular overseas destination.

“Uptake of our $1/MB roaming to Australia has been strong, so we’ve decided to offer even better value to our customers travelling across the ditch by halving it again”

To ensure customers can keep track of how much data they are using, we will send real time TXT notifications to customers’ mobiles when they reach 2MB, 5MB and 10MB data usage.

The $0.50/MB rate is available from today to all customers travelling to Australia. To find out more visit http://www.vodafone.co.nz/dataroaming

I was still paying 50 cents a meg in 2004 at school. In order to get internet allowance you had to deposit your cash in a box in the IT door who would load it onto your account within 5 days... simpler times Undecided
