Hi,

First of all I'd like to point out that I am a novice when it comes to computers and normally rely on google to help me sort things. But alas google has failed me on this one.

I can't seem to connect to the internet via my phone. I am using a SE Aino with a windows 7 laptop.

If I use the 'connect to internet' option in SE PC suite then my laptop will tell me I am 100% connected with absolutely no problems whatsoever, however when I try to open a webpage I get the usual 'can't reach the webpage' page. If I try to connect manually I just get 'error 633' and the option to redial.

What am I doing wrong? I have had this going in the past when I was on prepaid no worries (but with a different phone, though I tried that phone again and got the same result). I would also like to confirm the internet works fine directly from the phone.

Please help me, I have probably left out a tonne of relevant info so feel free to ask questions.

Via bluetooth, though I did try the usb cable as well and got the same result.

Well I'm not getting the error message now when I connect without using PC suite, unfortunately still no internet though.

I use the APN: direct.vodafone.net.nz

In my phone within the Data Comms menu I add direct.vodafone.net.nz

In my phone I set my USB and Bluetooth Profile as direct.vodafone.net.nz select from my data comms entry.

I then enable Bluetooth or use USB depending on my mood.

When your PC/Notebook and phone are paired you should be able to see the Bluetooth profiles available within the discovered devices.

On Win7 within the Hardware and sound -> Devices and Printers -> Bluetooth Devices, right click on the Bluetooth phone icon.

If you see a 'Connect using' option extended out to access point, then click on it.

That's it. You'll now be connected via 3G (GPRS)

If you're using Bluetooth the status will show 1Mbits connection speed.
If you're using USB (cable) the status will show 10Mbits connection speed.

These speeds are still dependant on your phone EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA etc.

If you don't have this option (depends on phone) you can always use the Bluetooth modem connection

As you have a Sony Ericsson Aino you should have all the good oil of Bluetooth profiles as you're running on the Sony Ericsson OS.
It's only when Sony Erisscon switches to early versions of Android that it all goes pear shape.

Thank you for your help. I actually sorted it yesterday but only via a usb cable. I'll have to give the direct.vodafone.net.nz a try some day though.
