hi i am with Telstra clear we have the (24 mps) internet speed plan and home phone package and my ping is always jumping up and down, its usually around 120 and my upload speed is always 0.12. does anyone know how to make the ping lower and why is the upload that slow?

1) Where are you testing to?

2) What type of modem do you have?

3) What speed plan are you on? Is it only 128kbps up?

4) What are you ADSL sync stats?

5) Have you performaned an isolation test?

6) What DNS servers are you using?

There are many, many possile scenarios and you're going to need to provide a lot more information before anybody could help you.

Im testing to the best server based on ping on speedtest.co.nz
I have a dynalink rta1320
3968/160 Kbps
what are the ADSL sync stats? how do i found that out?
dns server: 192.168.1.1

160kbps upload looks like you are configured for a 128k plan. If you think you are supposed to be on a 24MBps plan, you better get on the phone and ask them to change your ADSL profile.

Telstra don't have a 24mbps plan for ADSL/ADSL2+ package advertised on their website. How could any provider promise this on ADSL?

I'm too busy having sex to bother noticing what my computer's spec is
