Hi -

Wonder if somebody could help.

I own an E770V which came with Phone tools - the disc plus the cable;

Unfortunately the disc is now unreadable. Talked to Moto support in NZ, got an Aussie operator and the answer "You cannot get a replacement disc, nor can you download the software from anywhere. You HAVE to buy a new copy"

Whilst this mode of operation appears to be generating lots of customer loyalty - NOT -
I'm stuck with a fone which I cannot connect to my PC.

The only other method I've discovered is to use individual file sends over the BT link .. requiring a dongle on the PC etc etc .. _sigh_

Is there any other way to get the easily info off the fone into my PC?

Thanks in advance

regards
Gaz

If you brought the handset in NZ you should have a comeback with the New Zealand consumer laws. Providing that the CD is faulty straight out of the box it should be their problem.

Now being the operative word.

You could try some form of p2p to obtain Phone Tools

Hi there,

Thanks for that ... I appreciate the answer.

The Phone Tools contains drivers plus data management software to get from pc systems to the phone e.g. contacts http://www.bvrp.com/customers/motorola/upgrade/US/

However, all I need to do is connect the phone (USB), and then access the phone as a disk like a USBdrive .. which I used to be able to do ... for the sync stuff I could investigate using scheduleworld, which I use for PDA/PC/Web stuff ...

So if the USB driver allows that, and you are able to post it up, I'd appreciate a link.

Thanks in advance .. this issue has made me bald (not to mention the cavalier attitude of the CSR I talked to)

I have MPT which I got with my V3.
If you like, I am more than happy to copy the CD and send it to you?

Hi Torque

I appreciate the offer, but the fone itself has started to play up ... duh! So I wont waste your ime just yet.
It keeps losing the transmit leg of a conversation which is rather annoying.

I think I might just investigate getting a new 3G fone

I'll do up a final post when I've decided what to do

Btw, another member gave me the bluetooth driver only - which didnt allow me to get the piccies and videos I had created on the fone all at once - just one file at a time.

Hi jouie,

MPT should be the same, regardless of which phone model you have.  - It's not tailored for the specific phone as far as I know.

tnx for the reply...yes, the V3 works w/ the MPT of V830 .....but there are only 7 icons in the function panel of V830 MPT and i remembered seeing 8 icons in the other forums i visited... it would be nice to have the complete features ,dont U think sir??

If ever U can find time to favor my request, i dont think yahoo can accept a big file like the MPT, so please use my other email address jouiereyes@gmail.com . thanks in advance and more power to you sir....
