Anyone know the extent of this outage?

Guess not many use the 2g data network since its so damn slow, but those services are affected so perhaps they should look at upgrading the txt-a-park etc to use 3g?

A lot of serivces use the GPRS network. Smart meters, parking meters, fleet management/GPS trackers (I have one in my car, I know of nate and redjungle too).

The problem was restored 5 minutes after your post........

Received this earlier today at 3:27pm:


We are currently experiencing some intermittent issues with 2G data services, TXT-a-Park, MTicket and Corporate Connect Services.

This will mean that some customers may not be able to do the following:*Browse internet or check emails on 2G devices.
*Pay for parking using TXT-a-Park
*Purchase tickets using MTicket
*Mobile Eftpos.
*Corporate Communication tools.
*Mobile Data Network services.

Please note, 2G voice and TXT are not affected by this issue. 3G services (voice, text and mobile broadband) are not affected.

Our engineers are working to fix this as quickly as possible.

We hope to have an update on this issue by 4pm.


Then at 4:21pm:


The intermittent issues with 2G data services, TXT-a-Park, MTicket and Corporate Connect Services have now been resolved.

Cause of the issue was an unstable data link between network components, the link has been re-routed and normal service has resumed.

Please note, 2G voice and TXT were not affected by this issue. 3G services (voice, text and mobile broadband) were not affected either.

Vodafone apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience
