Working fine for us on Ironside Rd. We did notice the power, my Home Server rebooted, other PCs stayed up. Internet access was not affected for us.

Yep that'd do it. Lucky my house has power, it's just Internet down.

I guess there's no battery backup.

Surely Telstra have UPS on their active equipment?

Cable Internet is my main Internet. In an emergency I can use mobile, if it works, but having equipment vulnerable to a simple power outage doesn't bode well for an emergency.

It seems to be back up now. It was down for an hour or so.

Zeon: Surely Telstra have UPS on their active equipment?

Yes and no. The problem with a cable network is it requires a large number of pole mounted amplifiers  on every node for the upstream. Unlike the cabinets for PSTN which have battery backup and then generators, providing backup power to every part of the cable network isn't possible.
