Tonight is the second time a recorded voice from Vodafone has rung me wanting to tell me some thing about my Vodafone broadband (not trying to sell me something apparently, that is in the first sentence).

I refuse to be cold called by a robot, so I hung up. I assume I am not missing out on anything. If it was actually important send me an email, or at least have a real person call.

No seriously, Vodafone call you if your bill is overdue.  Not that I ever get called...

Correct this is why I asked if the OP account is paid up, If Vodafone is not paid that means I am not paid and JohnR needs to be paid

I had once a call from TelstraClear, I had forgotten to pay that month (no, I don't like automatic payments). So, it's not far fetched.

The OP coming back to tell us the whole story?

Sorry for the late reply, bunch of meetings today.

Thanks for the real live person response johnr, it was indeed an overdue bill! woops, an overzelous spam filter binned the two (I don't get paper bills) you are now white listed, and I promise to pay on time in the future.

I wonder what the stats are on people hanging up on the robot message, it can't be just me? Maybe you need to fit "you have an overdue bill" into the first sentance, because the message really did sound quite spammy.

P.S. Thanks for all the extra data I now have to think of ways to burn through my 45 GB a month.

No worries

If the message started with "you have an overdue bill" there is more chance of customers hanging up before it got any further
