Hi all...i just purcharsed a SE k800i phone from HK and I just went to the SE website to send the vodafone MMS and GPRS settings to the phone.  I tested both features and they all work fine...now the niggle is, the GPRS setting that I received from the SE website has the http://live.vodafone.com set up as the homepage but I cant seem to open that page up and keeps on getting the error : "something is wrong with the page you tried to access. Choose another link" so I tried to open other websites and that works fine.  I believe that accessing that URL is the only way to access the 'limited' vodafone live! functions...can someone confirm this please?

Another thing is, I've read a few posts about vodafone live! which i wasnt aware of until i came across this forum, so I'd appreciate it if someone can confirm if my facts are correct.  So judging from what I've read:

- imported phones such as my k800i wont be able to access the Vodafone live! 3G services such as the vid/music streaming or the vid/music downloads since it does not have the in-built vodafone live! 'software'
- The only way to be able to get it is by flashing the phone to a NZ-Voda software which may affect the functions of the phones. eg. camera not working

I'm not really into the downloading of music/videos onto the phone so that feature is not critical, but streaming vids would be great.  How about browsing through 3G? Is that possible with imported phones?

Thanks

Tip

Go into settings connectivity then datacom and pref service and switch this to CS only

I think you will find SE have this set to default CS and PS (Circuit switch and packet switched)

Thank you for the reply..I've tried the setting but it still wont open the vodafone live site....was that tip intended for the 3G web browsing or was it to open the site? Thanks

I'm also having an identical problem with a SE K610i that I purchased from Singapore last week - http://live.vodafone.com and http://wap.vodafone.net.nz both come with with the same error ("Something is wrong with the page you tried to access. Choose another link."  Not sure why - tried accessing it through the live.vodafone.com and vodafone.net.nz APNs, but same/similar error.

For what it's worth, changing CS + PS to CS only (on the K610i it's listed as "GPRS and GSM" or "GSM only") solved another connectivity problem for me (couldn't access the mobile blogger service on the phone) - ta.
