I have signed up for openVFX and expect the number to go live any time now. I have received the email with my VFX login information but the info provided does not seem to match up with the information expected by my router (an iiNet BoBLite). The boxes I need to fill in are as shown:
Sorry PastorMiker, but unfortunately a bit of an issue here... these boxes do not not support 3 way auth details, which we we do, i.e the details you will have are user name auth name password This box has the auth name and user to be the same ....
we actually have a ex ii-net staff member here which we are now beating accordingly for allowing this box to be built without that extra layer of security, we see that as a bit of a security hole using just password sorry.
This is the same box (albeit with different firmware) as Orcon's Genius Lite. So I guess that their VoIP service is not as secure as Xnet's?
From what you've said Maverick, it sounds like I can't use this modem for your VoIP service? That's a bit of a shame ... wish I'd known that when I bought it!
sorry PastorMike but in it's current setup that is correct, at least you will know now that with our service we just don't use a phone number and password and that we have your systems security first and foremost if that's of any consolation to you .... probably not I guess but I am very sympathetic
Thanks for your prompt replies Maverick - much appreciated
The shame with these devices is that iiNet / Orcon have them as proprietary so there's nowhere to go to get firmware updates which might have cured this issue. Oh well ... I'll just have to get a Linksys device to do VoIP.
