Found it:  http://clearnet.co.nz/unmetered.html

As a TelstraClear Residential Broadband customer you can access Ziln, Trade Me and all the video content on Clearnet.co.nz/video without affecting your monthly usage total one bit, ending 30th September, 2011.

Ok so I was looking for the details so I can set up my walled garden...  but OUCH?

It ended?

No more free unmetered TradeMe.  That might be a catch for young players?

How was unmetered TradeMe useful anyway? It's just html and some pictures, right (I don't really use it)? Hardly going to eat up your cap. In fact all of the "unmetered" offering is pretty useless. So while it's pathetic that they're ending it (though they always said so - shouldn't be a surprise), the applicable sites was even more pathetic in the first place.

I used Ziln a little bit, but found there to be a huge shortage of material, and it was all poor video quality. Clearnet video may be interesting for some people but I found the content boring. Why they think they have any reasonable excuse for re-metering Clearnet video is beyond me. They're hosting it!

Gary was here the other day saying that they've got new content on the way, so it's all a bit moot.

I just wanted the site list and noticed that it had come to and end and the page on the web site hadn't been updated.

As for TradeMe....  if you're a big trade me fan (of which there are many) then it is great value.  You can have a 1gb cap (which is enough for email) and be a happy trader.
