Hi:

Occasionally the browzing on the internet may be down for a few hours or only be partly working.
You might be going through Telecom or Vodafone or whoever, but the wires are down (so to speak) when connecting to the majority of overseas web sites.

Is there a couple of New Zealand based sites which report on currect or up-to-date connectivity and internet status?

Thank you in advance for any assistance given..

Regards,
Gordo

Thank you for that and noted.  The reason I mentioned I was looking for a couple sites is that Twitter for instance was not connecting for me yesterday when the connection was down.

There was an attack on an upstream provider for Vodafone.

http://forum.vodafone.co.nz has a Network Issues section which we post the major outages on. In the home phone and broadband section you can see the discussion about it as it was occurring.

Obviously none of these are useful if all your internet connection options are down.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

Thanks for this ... but I am told "[#2000] You are not allowed to visit this forum" despite being a Vodafone customer. Very odd.

There is a Vodafone NZ network issues RSS feed which I find very helpful and informative.

http://forum.vodafone.co.nz/rss/forums/5-network-issues/

Whack it in an RSS reader and job done.

Our work Internet account is currently provided by Vodafone, and it's been having intermittent global connectivity from the onset for a few weeks now, even before the DoS. Local sites are usually still OK. My cable Internet at home is working normally.

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them.
