Hi,
I recently got offered a nice low monthly price if I switch from Telecom broadband over to TelstraClear. As I could potentially save a bit of money switching to TelstraClear, I am giving it some thought.
One question I have is regarding the transparent proxy cache. Telecom gave me a static IP for free and were able to allow my connection to bypass their transparent cache system. Does anyone know if I can do the same on TelstraClear? This is convenient for me as I sometimes work from home.
I see the static IP costs $5.00 per month but I can't see if the transparent cache system is able to be bypassed. Anyone know?
Other than that - How does the speed of TelstraClear's home broadband (adsl) compare to Telecom? Does it perform well in the evenings (ie. no oversubscription)?
I guess I am currently happy with price and performance on Telecom, but if I can get similar service with TelstraClear, then I may as well save the $40 per month in price difference.
