I've tried the settings in the sticky topic but they really aren't working - anyone got any suggestions? I can't seem to send MMS. It was working before but I must have messed something up. I'm sure that when it was working the port was 8080. Does this sound right?
The settings I'm using are: Connect using: VFNZ Gateway Use Proxy: Yes Proxy address: 172.030.038.003 Port number: 9201 Username: blank Password: blank
It seems by setting the port to 8080 I can now send MMS but still can't browse the web..
EDIT: So now I can browse to Vodafone Live by setting my 'Streaming settings' to VFNZ Internet (using www.vodafone.net.nz as APN) and my 'Internet settings' to VFNZ Gateway (live.vodafone.com APN). Still can't seem to get any other sites though..
I'm not actually sure whether it only supports WAP 2.0 or not. Any idea why I can only (intermittantly) get to live.vodafone.com? It's a 3G phone - would this make any difference?
I have the k610 as well - you can actually download the settings directly from Sony Ericsson (http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=sg&lc=en&ver=&template=ps1&zone=ps&lm=ps1&pid=10389) - WAP, Email and MMS under the "Software and Setup" page. From memory the default settings use a port number of 8080; not using the proxy server or using port 9201 doesn't work for me.
Curiously enough the default settings didn't let me access vodafone live - I changed the streaming settings profile to the www.vodafone.net.nz APN as you suggested and I can now access vodafone live... albeit the non-3G version (as expected, really, with an imported phone).
Also, someone suggested changing CS + PS (circuit switched and packet switched) to circuit switched alone; the only equivalent setting I can find that might match is Data Comm / Preferred Service which gives an option of GPRS and GSM, or GSM only. I've been using GSM only for the last few weeks without any problems, for what it's worth.
