I'm getting terrible speeds on TelstraClear's InHome cable product. Is anyone else having issues?

No problems here.

You shouldn't use "Wellington" on speedtest.net as it it's hosted with Citylink and TelstraClear does not peer with them. You can use TelstraClear's own speed test at http://www.telstraclear.co.nz/customer-zone/speedtest.

Of course if it's happening (and others not seeing it) then you might want to check the usual: P2P software, large downloads, other people connected to your network, and if all ok then might be the case of contacting TelstraClear for some checks.

And don't forget to reset router and modem before calling...

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

:\

p2p software and other large downloads are handled by a different DSL connection, my router has been rebooted and there is next to no activity on the connection, perhpaps a few kbit/s here and there.

I suppose I am going to have to call the worst customer support bar none, with the possible exception of Hewlett Packard.

Interesting that I have a 10ms latency to my local TelstraClear HFC node and it shoots up to 98ms while traversing TelstraClear's high speed network.

Download Speed: 345 kbps (43.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 634 kbps (79.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 215 ms
