SteveON: Humm... I have the belief that a lot is to do with the mobile it's self.
Wifi for example; on my iPhone 4 is stupidly slow, for example a low quality youtube clip almost never loads. But over the same wifi on my laptop it loads in High Def in seconds.
I do note that I am in 2degrees and 3G seems to be faster than Wifi, but then again the iPhone was never good at Wifi... This was just an example and I find that tethering over 3G to my laptop is way faster than browsing on the iPhone.

Steve - the tests were all done using the Samsung Galaxy S II, not the low level iPhone 4 :)

starkhorn: Does anyone know where the actual report and test results that Epitiro did are available? It would be good to actually see the test results as opposed to a summary news report.
Cheers

It was available on NBR earlier this morning - but they later re-locked the article, behind their Paywall. I have the Full Report, I got it before NBR locked the article, unfortunately, I don't think Geekzone allows .PDF files to be shared on this site though.

You could post a link to one?

networkn: I noticed today in another article VF are going to release a 43Mbps dongle and were excited they were getting real world 18Mbps from it. It never ceases to amaze me that in the mobile world getting less than half the speed of the maximum is cause for excitement.. Why don't they just get the 21Mbps network running at capacity?
I can tell you I would be pretty unhappy if I was paying $100 a month for 20Mbps at home and could only get 10Mbps.

Hi Starkhorn,
The link to the a small part of the Epitiro Report is now on the Vodafone NZ website, it can be viewed here:
http://www.vodafone.co.nz/speed
*Edited, as the report on the Vodafone NZ website, is not the entire report (which is 19 pages).
