How do you cancel a TV service and return the kit?

Where does the kit have to be returned to in Christchurch.

Following the end of the RWC, I have a client who is no longer interested in having TV service but couldn't figure out, from the web site, how to return the gear.

Can anyone assist?

TiA.

Here are the steps you require:

1. Go to the telstraclear website.
2. Click on online help down the bottom
3. Type in "cancel TV" in the box.
4. The first answer tells you what number to ring.
5. The first related question underneath tells you how to return equipment

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

How to return equipment to TelstraClear - https://telstraclear.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/713/kw/cancel%20tv/related/1

"You can return your equipment to:
  • TelstraClear Retail Store - 683a Colombo Street, Christchurch Central, Christchurch
  • TelstraClear Retail Store - Courtenay Central, Shop 3, 100 Courtenay Place, Wellington
  • TelstraClear, Shed 39, 1 Hinemoa Street (off Waterloo Quay), Centreport, Wellington
  • TelstraClear, 258 Hereford Street, Christchurch"

I assume that page needs updating because I think 258 Hereford is the main building that's currently closed?

Is Colombo Street open?

If you courier it, and they send a courier bag, keep the ticket number. It took them ages to find mine and put my credit through, I had a $900 phone bill until they got around to it. They knew the ticket number, but it got confused because they sent two courier bags. I requested a second when the first didn't turn up, then they turned up at the same time.

Best drive in with it, and get a receipt.

I'm sorry Don even YOU should know this.

Pick up a phone Landline or one of your many VOIP phones.

Call... wait for it... 0508 ...  888   ... 800

And ask to terminate the Digital Tv service...

Then.... Ask them how they..... wait for it... Want the equipment back...

hahahahaha....  you have got to be kidding me.

Seriously...  kidding me.

It took me 2 minutes to type the opening question.  I got a great answer presented (but with out links to the information) withing a couple of hours while I was off doing something else.  I come home, find the answers just waiting for me, then posted the links to help anyone else who might also be wondering the same thing.

I got all this done outside the normal helpdesk support times and didn't have to waste my time sitting on hold working my way though the IVR to end up having to talk to some one in Manilla (who I can never understand properly and just frustrate the hell out of me!).

Na...  mate, GeekZone rocks for this sort of thing!  It really does.

I tried to leave the sarcasm out of my reply above as it is the lowest form of humour but really Don it is a waste if everyone's time

I am looking forward to the threads "How do I start my car?" and "Where do they keep the butter at the supermarket?" :-)

Out of interest, do you charge your clients money? If so personally I think its a bit off to basically not do your own homework and have everything presented to you on a silver platter...

Erm - usually with the dairy products - but you could ask a customer services representative.  If you are struggling to find the dairy products, listen out for the wails of "how much" and "it's gone up again" and "that block of cheese costs more than my car".

It was a serious question wasn't it?

@Hairy1 - not wasted at all - sarcasm received and fully understood.

Don I agree "face palm".  Mate that's soooo lazy.  You don't learn anything by asking others to find stuff out for you.

Personally I think it's a shame how much like the TardMe forums GZ has become. It drives traffic though, so I can't really be a bad thing I guess.

Ha ha - like it.  What a polite shut down request!  Perhaps if you make it look more like eBay they wouldn't complain.  Have you asked them if they want to buy the domain?
